Start-up/Shut down
- Each spring your irrigation system needs to be started, tested,
adjusted and set for the season. Many homeowners are capable of
doing this themselves, as it takes no special equipment. In the
fall, the irrigation system must be shut down and winterized. This
requires the use of high-pressure air to blow out all of the lines
to protect them from freezing in the winter. Spring
Clean Up
– In the spring, there is usually residue on the lawn and in the
beds around the house from the previous fall and winter. During a
spring clean up the crew will remove debris from the lawn and beds
to prepare them from the spring growing season.
Fall
Clean Up
– Late in the fall, the trees loose their leaves and this debris
needs to be removed from the lawn and beds prior to the first
snowfall. A crew will rake/blow and vacuum the debris from the lawn,
beds and hard surfaces and dispose of the debris off site.
Storm
Clean Up
– If a storm occurs that deposits litter such as downed branches,
leaves, etc on you property, a crew will come in and clean up the
debris and dispose of it off site. Lawn
Aeration
- Aeration is the process of punching holes (usually 3-4 Inches
deep) into your lawn to allow water, oxygen, fertilizers, and other
nutrients to penetrate the soil and better reach the roots of your
grass. This process is highly recommended for compacted soils,
especially in areas where clay soil is common.
Lawn
Dethatching - Dethatching is the process of removing
thatch from your lawn. Thatch accumulates on the surface of your
soil just below the grass line and usually out of sight. Thatch is a
layer of grass stems, roots, clippings, and debris that settle on
the ground and either slowly decompose and/or accumulate over time.
If the thatch layer gets to heavy, it can prevent vital nutrients
that grass needs from reaching the soil. Lawn
