   Descriptions of Services

Weekly Lawn Service - This service is the most frequently requested service. A crew will come to your home each week, mow your lawn, trim around all objects, and blow the debris from all hard surfaces. You will never have to mow your lawn again. Generally, this service is billed on a per time basis. Weekly service can be tailored to your exact requirements.

Landscape Bed Maintenance – Your landscape beds are the foundation bed around your home along with any other beds such as tree rings, raised garden areas, border and boundary area beds etc. that contain plantings, mulched areas and rock beds. This service usually includes weeding of these areas on a regular basis to keep the beds looking neat and clean. Shrub maintenance and or gardening services might be included with this service depending on the types of beds you have. This is a per time service.

Fertilization - Fertilization  is the process of feeding or adding essential nutrients to a lawn or landscape bed with plantings. The type and frequency of the fertilization is dependent on the requirements of the plant and the soil conditions. Generally, lawns need fertilization from one to four times per year.

Weed Control – In lawns, weeds are common especially in areas of high stress caused by poor soil conditions and poor growing conditions. Weed control is done by application of weed control agents to the lawn or a combination of weed control  agents and hand weeding specific areas such as landscape beds.

Pest Control – Pests such as ants, grubs, moles, shrews and voles are common in the mid west. Pest control is consists of application of control agents to reduce or eliminate the pests that can be a problem to homeowners.

Shrub Maintenance – Most homes have shrubs growing in foundation beds or other areas of the property. Shrub maintenance can consist of minor shaping and trimming of shrubs on a regular basis to control shape and reduce size to reconstructive pruning, which is needed to control plant health, shape and size.

Gardening Services – If you have planting beds that have flowering annuals or perennials and would like to have those beds maintained, planted or replanted on a regular basis, you are looking for gardening services.

Irrigation Start-up/Shut down - Each spring your irrigation system needs to be started, tested, adjusted and set for the season. Many homeowners are capable of doing this themselves, as it takes no special equipment. In the fall, the irrigation system must be shut down and winterized. This requires the use of high-pressure air to blow out all of the lines to protect them from freezing in the winter.

Spring Clean Up – In the spring, there is usually residue on the lawn and in the beds around the house from the previous fall and winter. During a spring clean up the crew will remove debris from the lawn and beds to prepare them from the spring growing season.

Fall Clean Up – Late in the fall, the trees loose their leaves and this debris needs to be removed from the lawn and beds prior to the first snowfall. A crew will rake/blow and vacuum the debris from the lawn, beds and hard surfaces and dispose of the debris off site.

Storm Clean Up – If a storm occurs that deposits litter such as downed branches, leaves, etc on you property, a crew will come in and clean up the debris and dispose of it off site.

Lawn Aeration - Aeration is the process of punching holes (usually 3-4 Inches deep) into your lawn to allow water, oxygen, fertilizers, and other nutrients to penetrate the soil and better reach the roots of your grass. This process is highly recommended for compacted soils, especially in areas where clay soil is common.

Lawn Dethatching - Dethatching is the process of removing thatch from your lawn. Thatch accumulates on the surface of your soil just below the grass line and usually out of sight. Thatch is a layer of grass stems, roots, clippings, and debris that settle on the ground and either slowly decompose and/or accumulate over time. If the thatch layer gets to heavy, it can prevent vital nutrients that grass needs from reaching the soil.

Lawn Restoration – If your lawn is in bad shape from lack of care, damage from heavy traffic, drought, or disease you may need a lawn restoration. Lawn restoration is the process of removing the old lawn conditioning the soil and sodding or seeding the lawn to establish a new lawn. This may be a small area in the lawn or the entire lawn.

Deck Restoration – Cleaning, staining and sealing your deck and other wooden structures to restore beauty and provide protection.

Paver Sealing – Improve the life and stain resistance of your pavers by cleaning and sealing them. Get a natural look or even a wet look to improve keep your pavers looking great for years to come.

Landscape DesignLandscape design is the process of developing a detailed plan for landscaping a property. The landscape designer will work with the customer to develop a landscape plan to include elements such as walkways, patios, decks, beds, water features, focal points, retaining walls, plantings, etc.
